2009 is shaping up to be quite a year for cycling here in Michigan. And
in the middle of
it all stands Le Tour de Mont Pleasant. This event is in its 1st year of
planning, but already
it stands apart from the rest because of the length of the race course
and the prize money that we’re throwing on the table. We've also added a
very big name to our event. Our Race Announcer will be none other than
Frankie Andreu!!!
Thanks to all who helped organize this event, those who volunteered
their time and resources over the course of the weekend, to our
officials and timing crew, to all law enforcement agencies, fire and
medical personnel for keeping our community members, visitors and riders
safe, to the City of Mt. Pleasant for their efforts and their support of
this event, and to our many sponsors, including our title sponsor,
Central Michigan Community Hospital. What a great weekend for racing!!!
We also can’t say enough about the level of skill that cyclists brought
to the race. Simply amazing! We hope everyone who attended had a great
time!

What
do oil wells in Isabella County and the Eiffel Tower have in
common? Up until now, nothing, but that’s about to change. The
Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce plans to bring a little
bit of France to Isabella County as we invite cyclists and
visitors from far and wide to come and experience our 1st Annual
Le Tour de Mont Pleasant!
In conjunction with our event, Art Reach of Mid-Michigan is
organizing the 1st Annual Festival of Banners here in Mt.
Pleasant which means the streets will be alive with color as
riders take our town by storm.
